Universities are expected to embed sustainability in their teaching, yet many instructors lack workable concepts and design tools. A new article in the Zeitschrift für Hochschulentwicklung presents the eight-hour online course Sustainability Education 101 and analyzes 21 course submissions from Regensburg and St.Gallen. The findings show which course elements instructors found supportive, where institutional limits lie, and what a short academic development format can and cannot achieve.

Systems thinking among students in sustainability programs
Systems thinking appears in every major sustainability competency framework, yet instructors have few practical tools to assess it. In a new open-access article in die hochschullehre, Robert Kordts, Birgit Kopainsky and I test two existing questionnaires in interdisciplinary, non-STEM programs and ask what their limits mean for teaching.
